The physical quality of the book (binding, pages, cover, etc.) are all perfectly fine, no problems whatsoever. This review, however, is based on the contents of the book as based on the reactions of the four year-old for whom it was bought. I have learned that, to a preschooler, "Wacky Wednesday" is the absolute funniest thing known to mankind. There never has been, nor will there likely ever be, anything that can compare in terms of sheer hilarity. I can not guarantee all children will react in the same manner, but I can promise you that is your kid likes it nearly as much as mine does, their reaction will be well worth reading it approximately three-hundred and seventy-one times a week.
These books are OK, but I don't like them as much as the ones in the Red book. My daughter LOVES Wacky Wednesday, which while it's super cute and good counting practice, it gets annoying (from a parental perspective) fast. The only other book in here that she likes is the Duck Feet one. Otherwise, we rarely read the other books in the collection.
Bought a used copy of this book, and it arrived in very good condition - better than expected, in fact. The stories are great inside. My 4.5 year old loves to “read†them herself by looking at the pictures and noticing the sight words that she already recognizes. She also enjoys the great writing and illustrations in each individual story that I read aloud. They are just the right length as well. We also own the Big Red Book and plan to purchase more in the series. Highly recommend!!!
I’m in love with Dr.Seuss’ books and this one is just perfect- they did an awesome job, the books are great for kindergartener who is beginning to read. We have to read a lot in our school, so the price is great and much cheaper than buying each every book separately!
I have a 6 yr old son, in first grade. He is shy, but he becomes more shy because he has issues with reading. He came to me one day, after he went to the school library, and he picked out this book and started reading it. It came so easy for him and felt very comfortable reading it. He then wanted me to buy it so he could begin reading some stories to his class. I have never seen him so excited about reading, especially in front of his classmates. The book contains about 6 or 7 stories of which each story is about 10 -12 pages. This was by far the best money I spent on a book for my son.
My three year old loves all of these books. We started collecting them when he was two and I think we have pretty much all of them now. Each one has at least a couple stories that he really likes and sometimes he'll choose a lesser-read story to change things up. Highly recommended.
As I mentioned in the subject line .. red book has better stories at least for my kid.. he still wants to go back and prefer red book over this. I mean honestly it’s a great book but individual preferences right :)
A great way to build a Dr Seuss library. Was purchased for my daughter who loves to read and I wanted to share the story Wacky Wednesday with her, which was a childhood favorite of mine. The only way I could find the story was in the compilation.
