Ever since "The Tudors" series in 2007 on Showtime, I have been a Tudor nut! Anything that has anything to do with that period of British history I am getting my hands on it. I also love watching the documentaries that Lucy Worsley hosts. So when I found this book about the palace most associated with King Henry VIII and that Ms. Worsley wrote it, I had to have it, and it did not disappoint. It is a treasure for anyone who is a Tudor fan, or a fan of British History, Monarchies and architecture. The photos are vibrant and beautiful, and their is in depth history to accompany it. It is a great addition to my personal British Royal Library!
Beautiful pictures! Full of information! I really love this book. I didn't buy when there and realized that was a mistake. I ordered as soon as returning home and, happily, didn't pay a lot more than I would have if I had bought on location.
Very good book. Good and well documented text, fine paper and nice color photographs.
We will visit the Palace next August. So the information in the book added to our fun in planning the trip. Plus, we had no idea how big the place really is.
This book is very informative, I like the early sketches of the palace and how it shows you (in color) how it was when the Cardinal owned it; how King Henry and Queen Elizabeth updated it and present day. It's a shame William and Mary had half of the old Tudor palace torn down but there's enough left of the early period to get an idea how grand it was in Henry's time.
Grear book wonderful illustrations! Great photography, wonderful information truly a great read for all ages!

My wife and I recently spent the day at Hampton Court Palace while visiting London. Not having prepared well for the overwhelming beauty and history we experienced, I decided to order a book to compliment my visit! This "official illustrated history" was a magnificent read with stunning photography! I highly recommend a visit to Hampton Court Palace but the next best thing is to purchase this wonderful book!! I give it a standing ovation!
